ATL TEENS:Â Â Enroll in our summer dance program and receive the training of professional dancers!
Rhythma Studios partnered with the Be ProActive Foundation in 2011 to launch the first Summer Youth Art in Action Program. This free community-based summer camp for kids aimed to empower teens to improve their health through exercise, the arts and making healthy choices in their lives.
After the resounding success of the first year’s camp, Rhythma and Be ProActive partnered once again in 2012 to launch a second season for the Art in Action program. The second year of the program includes a special Healthy Hearts Campaign focused on heart health and the importance of cardiovascular exercise.
Rhythma’s role in the camp is to help promote dance not only as a healthy lifestyle choice and exercise option, but also as a potential vocational path for the youth in the summer program. Over the course of seven weeks of instruction and discussion with professional working dancers, the youth in our Arts in Action program have direct exposure to the career path of a professional dancer.
During the summer program, students will have exciting opportunities to learn about dance, photography, music production and other topics. These sessions will be fun, informative and equip youth to educate their peers and the broader community on the importance of having healthy relationships and making positive choices in life. The program culminates in a series of community performances choreographed by Rhythma and produced by the program youth.
