You can order zappers online or come on down to this atlanta dance studio and we will get you all zapped up!
Parasitic Worms
Hookworms (necator americanus) – These parasites are born outside the body in water and earth and then humans become infected. We get it from drinking water that contains hookworm larvae, or we can eat contaminated fruits and vegetables. This worm attaches itself to the human intestines with it’s teeth and then drinks our blood. Rhythma Dancers, if you have hookworms, most likely you will often feel weak, abdominal pain, nausea, frequent diarrhea and in females, they may cease to menstrate.

Roundworms (ascaris lumbricoides) – A worldwide common parasite. These worms are as large as a writing pencil. People are infected by ingesting the eggs which can be in the soil, fruits, and vegetables. The eggs find their way from the intestines to various organs where the can cause severe damage. If you are infected with Roundworms, you will likely experience weight loss, weakness, infection and abdominal pain. These are the big ones!

Tapeworms (taenia solium, diphyllobothrium latum, and taenia saginata) – Humans do become infected with tapeworms, but more commonly it’s the family pet; your cat or dog. The only way to get tapeworms is to swallow fleas that are infected with tapeworm larvae. This worm can take-up residence in the intestines where it will steal your nutrients and expel dangerous waste. The human host infected with this worm may not show as apparent signs as dog or cat. Some of the symptoms are bloating, dizziness, gas, hunger pains, allergies and vitamin & mineral imbalance.

Liver Fluke (clonorchis sinensis) – A worm that attacks the host’s liver by causing inflammation and making holes. Liver Fluke can live inside a human host for approximately 30 years! Humans acquire this parasite through eating undercooked fish, contaminated vegetables, human feces used as fertilizer, or by drinking (or swimming) in contaminated water. This little bugger can cause Cancer, vertigo, bile stones, depression, pain on the right side of the body and an enlarged liver. Dangerous little creature!

Pinworms (enterobius follicularis) – A common human parasites in the Northern America. This worm makes its home in the host’s colon, but it lays eggs outside of the host’s body. It’s symptoms include irritation and itching of the anal area. How does it transmit? Through unclean hands, clothes, and bed sheets. How do they eventually come out of the body? Through the feet!
Lymphatic filariasis – also known as elephantiasis, is best known from dramatic photos of people with grossly enlarged or swollen arms and legs. The disease is caused by parasitic worms, including Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and B. timori, all transmitted by mosquitoes. Lymphatic filariasis currently affects 120 million people worldwide, and 40 million of these people are seriously diseased. When an infected female mosquito bites a person, she may inject the worm larvae, called microfilariae, into the blood. The microfilariae reproduce and spread throughout the bloodstream, where they can live for many years. Often disease symptoms do not appear until years after infection. As the parasites accumulate in the blood vessels, they can restrict circulation and cause fluid to build up in surrounding tissues. The most common, visible signs of infection are excessively enlarged arms, legs, genitalia, and breasts.
