What You Should Wear to Gymnastics at Rhythma

Hello, there Rhythma dancers! I recently have had a lot of students ask me what attire they should wear when they come to Gymnastics class.  The first thing when considering taking any dance class is comfort.  That being said, the next matter of importance deals directly with safety.  Remember when taking gymnastic classes, the instructor will be spotting you.  If you where baggy or loose clothing, it can get caught on the limb of your instuctor or catch yourself and could potentially cause a terrible blunder.  If you remember taking gymnastics class as a child, you will probably remember alot of leotards and tights.  That tradition dies hard.  At this Atlanta dance studio we prefer tighter, or atleast form-fitting clothes.  The more the instructor can see the lines of your body, the more they will be able to make proper corrections.  Wearing something fitted also allows you to move freely without worrying about getting caught.

Another thing to remember, when choosing your gymnastic attire,  spandex and other slippery materials are not recommended.  The dance instructors hands may slip when reaching out to spot you if your clothes are too slick.  The last thing to remember,  always chose fun, bright costumes that bring you to life, dancers!
